I made this for my cousin's daughter's first birthday.
This was all done in inks but rather than using pens with nibs, I used paint brushes. I enjoy the way the colours are even, almost like a wash.
I hope they like it!
This is my latest card. I wanted to do something that could be personalised so I started with the blank space in the design and built the vines around it. The leaves and berries followed to balance out the composition.
As ever, if you see something that you like or have an idea for your own card for someone special, please get in touch.
I have been trying out something new. I am a huge fan Rob Ryan who uses paper-cutting to create the most intricate and beautiful works.
Give Me Work 2012 - Rob Ryan
While I'm not keen on the whole paper-cutting thing but I do love the effect. So, for my Christmas card I used the same principles but with ink. Not nearly as detailed as Mr Ryan's works but as a first attempt I am very happy with it. I hope you like it!
